MAISON DEODAT ROCHE Arques is the village which saw the birth of Déodat Roché (1877-1978), the historian of Catharism. His house is the location for a permanent exhibition devoted to Catharism and its interpretations. The entrance ticket also entitles you to visit Arques Castle.

Rennes-le-Château offers a variety of sites to visit, where traces of François Bérenger Saunière, also known as the Abbé Saunière, can still be found: the Church of Saint Mary Magdalen (10th century), its gardens, the presbytery of the Abbé Saunière (where he lived from 1885 to 1917) which has been converted into a cultural and historical area, and the Abbé Saunière's Estate, the Magdala tower, the Béthanie Villa and the orangery.

TRAIN TOURISTIQUE DU PAYS CATHARE ET DU FENOUILLEDES Explore this hundred-year-old railway line at the pace of our trains. It links Axat (Aude) and Rivesaltes (Pyrénées-Orientales). Travel in normal or open carriages, depending on the season, to encounter a mosaic of different landscapes. There is a commentary on the route. Open: Easter to end of December. MUSEE DES DINOSAURES Dinosauria is the first dinosaur museum in Europe. It has 3,000 sq m of exhibition space where you'll find a magnificent collection of dinosaurs, fossils of reptiles, mammals, invertebrates and plants from this region and throughout the world. From the Cretaceous Period glasshouse, which shows what plants were like 70 million years ago, you can get a direct view of researchers working in the laboratory. During school holidays children aged 6-12 can be shown excavation techniques and learn how to be real palaeontologists. The museum is open to the public in July and August. The excavation site is the richest deposit of fossils in France, where ?Eva' was discovered.

The Quercorb Museum, with its attractive displays, allows you to discover this fascinating little region. Visual and sound exhibits recreate everyday life in Quercorb at the beginning of the 20th century. The "instrumentarium" is resonant with music and displays nine musical instruments of the middle ages that have been reconstructed on the model of the sculptures of musicians in Puivert Castle. You can use headphones to listen to 9 Occitan troubadour "cansos" while you follow the words and medieval music reconstructed on goatskin parchment. In the museum orchard there are displays including a still and a collection of objects related to harvesting fruit and processing it into fruit brand.
