The Cathar Trail

Experience towering fortresses built on high peaks!

Following the Cathar Trail which runs from the western Mediterranean Sea to the “Pog de Montségur", the remains of medieval castles, the bells of small churches, chapels and oratories, all reveal the very ancient history of the area, which has now become legendary. The fragrances of the Mediterranean landscapes abruptly meet the heavier scents of fir forests and mountainous pastures, just above Quillan.

The GR7

Crossing the Pyrenean chain via the GR7 path from the Montagne Noire, our region reveals another character: high summits and lakes, where the Cathar and Catalan countries meet and open the door to a gentle journey towards Andorra and Spain.
